Welcome to 2011! Trends in social media you'll find interesting.

As it happens, I'm on the high seas and not really "connected" to the internet like we're all used to on dry land.  [Yeah, the ship has internet hook-up, but it's fundamentally the same as what we remember in the dial-up days!  And that just doesn't make it with today's large downloads.]

Nonetheless, I wanted you to see what I ran across that's--from my POV, at least--interesting with respect to social media.  

Tim Weiss, an angel investor, talks about where smart and dumb money will go in a Mashable contribution, "4 social media predictions for 2011,"

and

SocialMedia Examiner's Amy Porter Field with "6 social media predictions for 2010."
